Parents magazine recently announced its 2013 exclusive list of the 10 Best Children’s Hospitals, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital, in Columbus, was ranked ninth overall. The list provides a comprehensive, family-focused, data-driven comparison of pediatric facilities. In compiling the list, Parents focused on key areas that include treatment success, groundbreaking research and family-friendly facilities.
“While rankings are certainly not the reason for our work, they are an external validation of our commitment to delivering outstanding care and quality,” says Steve Allen, M.D., the hospital’s chief executive officer. “Parents magazine rankings are significant in their visibility to parents and consumers and speak not only to our clinical excellence, but also our dedication to the patient experience.”
Nationwide recognizes the importance of employee health to ensure that patients and families receive optimal care. The hospital offers a wide range of resources that include health insurance, access to community supported agriculture (CSA), a diabetes management program, an employee fitness center, employee sports teams, massage therapy and reflexology, smoking cessation, lactation clinics and more.
